be confusing to us, we are to accept it by faith and trust that God will do only what is ultimately right. A drawback to this interpretation is that it takes the emphasis away from God’s love. Determinism appears to be inconsistent with what we understand about God being perfect love. To say God has predetermined those who will be saved is also to say God has predetermined those He will condemn, causing some to be hopelessly lost no matter what their personal desires toward God might be. A rewriting
